Continuum is pleased to announce that we have successfully secured £50,000 in grant funding from Homes England’s Brownfield Land Release Fund to support Cannock Chase District Council in the next stage of its town centre regeneration programme. This important funding will be used to develop a comprehensive Development Framework Document that will provide clarity for prospective investors and inform the local community about the long-term vision for Cannock’s transformation.

This grant is an important recognition of the progress that has already been made on the Cannock regeneration project. It reflects the strong partnership between Continuum, Cannock Chase District Council and Homes England, and the visible momentum that continues to build on the ground. The funding follows a recent visit from representatives of Homes England, who were able to see first-hand the significant steps already taken to prepare key sites, coordinate the demolition programme and set the framework for future development. Their engagement and support demonstrate confidence in the approach being taken and the shared ambition to bring meaningful, lasting change to Cannock town centre.

Over the past 12 months, Continuum has played an integral role in supporting the Council’s regeneration ambitions, working closely on strategic site acquisitions, planning coordination and engagement with the project team made up of Demolition Contractors, Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers. Together, these efforts have been focused on creating the right conditions to attract new investment and deliver a town centre that is more vibrant, accessible and economically resilient.

Further progress for the town centre regeneration programme.

In October 2025, one of the key regeneration sites, the Forum Shopping Centre which was acquired earlier in the year, received a planning consent for demolition. This approval aligns with the wider demolition activity already underway in the town centre, including the removal of the former multi-storey car park, which is due to be completed by the end of 2025. Continuum, working in close collaboration with its demolition partners Tetra Tech, C&D Engineering and Connell Brothers, will now move swiftly to commence works on the Forum site, marking another significant step forward in the transformation of Cannock town centre.

Determining the future of Cannock town centre

At the same time as acting as development managers, Continuum is providing real estate advisory services to the Council, supporting discussions with future developers and operators across a range of sectors including residential, mixed-use and commercial development. These conversations are essential in shaping the next phase of regeneration and defining what the new Cannock town centre will become.
